A neural network trained on an enormous amount of text that learns statistical patterns about language. The technology behind ChatGPT, the AI, Gemini, and similar tools. LLMs generate text that is contextually relevant and fluent — but they don't "know" things the way a database stores facts, which is why they can be wrong even when sounding certain.
